In this quick video I walk the thin line between active progression and 'skating for fun.' I'm sure most of you can relate to trying the same easy trick thousands of times and switching from the fun session mood into angry battle mode. I also discuss part of my reasoning for disliking the current no-comply trend with some logical arguments that should help you guys to understand my thoughts. Hope you enjoy.

- Vasectomy Fail: nose didn't even snap off the ground
- Negan Winchester: Great video bro, I don't agree on hating on tricks, except pressures, but the philosophy was on point. And skateboarding is like anything in life, there's gonna be sweet, fun times but it's also gonna spit on you when you're on the ground. However, at the end of the day it's always going to be worth it.
- Egg Head: Yuri Lopes some tricks get us all fucked up, no matter how basic...
- Jadon D.: I think that the straight no comply is the only really dope one (it's the only one I do anymore), but nobody does that one cause it's hard as fuck to get down. These dumbass "no-complies" with 30 hops and no-comply "fling out flips" (I sometimes mess with no comply 360 flips so I'm guilty of this) are getting fucking ridiculous. It really is turning into luck. And the shitty thing is kids that do these stupid tricks don't even view them as "dork tricks" and just stuff to mess around with. It's like they try to get sponsored by doing a bunch of flatground stupid trendy no-complies. I'm all for creativity and having fun with skating, but the trendy "minute long no-comply hop" shit needs to die out. It's getting way too out of hand.
- Syndig0 Sacred: Although you were saying that you were spinning the board and hoping to land on it, I could see you improving towards the end where you kept landing on the board but not rolling away. You can get that trick consistant
- e g: dude just stop making vidoes. youre fucking annoying and as far as skating goes you dont need to be trying to teach or even entertain unless youre just showing all your bails. youre fucking all of your subscribers that try to listen to you. you have the stupidest concept of skateboarding. and then you just talk shit about skating in the end because you tried a dumb trick that its not even like youre going to do over anything since you didnt learn it with pop... so whats the sense of learning it.
- Otto Barrios: oh come on dude i seen people land that trick consistent ... not my favorite personaly but still doesnt make sence because i love doing and learning every single trick thats possible on a board
- bunniestnextodahboiz: great job-happy harmonica
- griffin thomas: damn I'm here early (insert joke)
- Lil Dizzy: Kill your self you duking hitch
- hugo schombourger: doing this out of a manual would be sick !
- Otniel Manary: Yeah but landing that trick you've been battling with for hours, weeks, months, years, feels fucking great!! That's what skateboarding is to me
- Vasectomy Fail: ninja has kanye logic. meaning as soon as he says something you agree with he says something to remind you how dumb he is. look, just cause no complies are trendy and you don't like them doesn't mean it's all luck and no skill. i've heard jocks say the same shit about kickflips.
- FeR crack: pop pop pop...where are you! ? The no pop Man
- Otto Barrios: so rigth
- _HUNRUSPWNZ_: now land it clean with steeze :P
- Egg Head: The most fun part of skating for me is becoming consistant. I hate getting exhausted learning dumb tricks.
- B H: Ninja projects his own fears alot...he hates tricks that just spin/flip 360 +, double flip + and hope you land but lots of people have the skill to pull those "crazy" tricks off that ninja can not fine tune...kinda feel bad for the little guy, like his step dad blew a load in his momma and took off on a scooter on them? who knows...
- Madness Skateboarding: I totally agree with you ninja idk where the fuck skating went with this weird shit that aren't real tricks and not real learning. Keep skateboarding... skateboarding
- Colin Cassidy: "spin the board and pray you land it" (does 540 shuv)
- Jayden Roebuck: Get yourself some earbuds so when there are distractions, you can tune them out
- Glawen the Goy: Ha that's me with nollie 360 shuvs, Fuck that trick.
- Peste: that trick sucks ninja lol
- Baja Malibu Surf Report: Watch Rodney's questionable part that is how I learned them. Speed is the key.
- Yuri Lopes: poser sh!t dude this video and your comment sums up how I feel 100%.. like yesterday I got so fucking mad when skating. I was trying this stupid little knee high gap, and I started to try regular backside bigspins. I swear to God I couldnt land it, I tried to be reasonable like ninja said, and figure out what I was doing wrong, but I couldn't. either the fucking board would get behind or ahead of me, or I'd catch it perfectly mid air and the board would just decide to flip and land upside down. my friends didn't realize why I was so mad, cuz they see skating differently. it's a knee high gap and a fucking basic trick. I never was too good at them but it's fucking bigspins, it's basic, I shouldn't have to take fucking 2 hours to hopefully finally land it with a strike of luck.. and I broke my board.. ugh
- El Cubo del Narco: sup Ninja, to me this video has been one of the most inspirational videos you´ve done. I think that showing your struggle and talking about how you feel will help lots of people, starting with yourself. Keep it up, you are great! Regards from Spain
- stiff little fingers: learning is for fools
- brettartie: doesn't count, didn't pop! hahhahaha jk
- Akata Kid: brettartie Its just a shuv not a pop shuvit
- Anonymous: Almost a toe touch.
- Chongus: just like scooters are not needed at skateparks xD
- newpa1n: I'll be interested in this. Also agree with everything he said about mastering a trick. It makes it feel more like you're honing a skill and taking something seriously rather than just "dicking around" with random board spins. Not sure where I stand on the no-comply thing, but I agree with Ninja that I don't care for the general style that much.
- Nick: Wait am I first for once? Yay
- Joseph Choi: woah woah woah leave the dog eating to Asian John
- Air Jorby: I feel like you immediately just throw this "luck" connotation to anything that says no-comply. Luck is a part of skateboarding, and yes it's not about the ability to get lucky on camera once so you can seem better, but if you don't think that someone like Sam Tabor, Alexander Rademaker, or any of these other freestyle skaters can land their tricks at a consistent rate, you're dead wrong. I'm not a freestyle skater, but anytime someone wants to become creative with a board should be welcomed. Though the tricks seem rather silly and may not achieve anything out of SLS, but these tricks are nonetheless original, difficult to do, and can be fun to watch. Saying these freestyle skaters are depending on luck makes you seem salty towards them for no reason, which is weird because we don't tell you to no-comply. Next thing you know Ellis frost is going to be chastised for being lucky when landing a quad-kickflip on flatground.
- Zachary: Tic tac
- RickySanchez77: I am learning that trick for the first time and it took me 5 hours to get it the first time and my stupid ass friend didnt even record it smh
- grungeisdead: 540 shoves are fucking ridiculous on your legs if you don't pop it... Look at how hard you move your legs in the video... Even a switch 540 shove would be easier if you popped it... Just pop it and crank it with your foot and your body a little bit. Much easier. This doesn't apply to Rodney though, I saw him do a 720 nollie front shove without popping it, and he looked like 10 years old...
- ABDStillLegit: Those kinds of tricks aren't worth doing unless you do them right: popping the board.
- capnslyfox: you can probably beat yourself one handed!
- Madchewychunk: 6th
- Dank Souls Void: alright hearing what you have to say about no comply has convinced me to make a ninja review video. I am very consistent with my no comply variations, it's not all I do but I have a lot of fun with no complys. I'll be readying the video and my butthole
- josh daniel: TOE, REDO
- presence: i dont know, i guess lol
- Isaak j: lmao him talking about the dogs XD
- grungeisdead: wtf, your butthole?
- French Taco: Wearing a "UNSUB" hat would of help more.
- Stephen Struble: Weird. I was just thinking about how I wish that I could do this trick. lol
- SharkieJeannie: BBQ 🐕 lol
- Trojan Burgess: Colin Cassidy that was the point he was making
- George Pierce: Just be quiet we're all doing what where doing you ride skateboards we ride scooters why is that so bad it's not it's just your culture in skateboarding I'm not saying it's all skateboarders but people like this it's just not needed
- Nick: :( I wanted to be 6th for once
- Jeremy Montemayor: Skating is usually fun but every time I skate I try to learn new tricks and constantly trying to progress so honestly at times it mostly a lot of patience and frustration the feeling of landing a new trick tho is a high
- Jacob G.: I know exactly what you're saying ninja
- Joe McNally: I like your thinking, and I can definitely see why you hate no complys. I feel alot happier having worked really hard for a new trick than to just do the same old tricks I do every time I skate. It's an accomplishment its similar to going to the gym for instance, and building muscle because you are working towards a goal and it feels fucking awesome when you get there :)
- Marty: Back it up with the nollie 540 flip!
- Otto Barrios: lol true
- Dank Souls Void: grungeisdead I won't be offended. but I bet he turns it off because of how much he hates no comply.
