SKATEBOARDER ASSAULTS SF COP - Slams Into Car

If you have instagram or facebook, you definitely watched the video of a San Francisco police officer making contact with a skateboarder causing the skateboarder to slam into the police car and flip into the street. There are several different versions of this story, but in today's video I'd like to give you guys a different perspective as well as some useful life advice. Treat cops like wasps. NoraNora LastName: What SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED NEXT was that the police officer should have ran to the skaters side to see if he had a head injury, a broken neck or spine, was conscious and needed MEDICAL ATTENTION! INSTEAD, the asshole cop walked away like it wasn't his fault! So, the cop appears for have ILL INTENTIONS AND DIDN'T CARE FOR A CHILDS WELLBEING! If you protect and serve; DO THE JOB TO PROTECT AND SERVE Only one officer came to see before the riot broke out to if he was alright and it wasn't the one who shoulder checked him. He was rushed The a hospital 55 miles away for medical attention! It wasn't SFPD who gave a shit. So regardless of the situation, a life was harmed in a senseless and negligible act by the officer. He shouldn't have stood in the way of this young man and obstructed him and throwing his shoulder into him.

Le CrookZ: If you're a cop and your job is to block the road and you do so but those kids are already speeding down the road its the most logical way of thinking to get out of the way to not hurt these kids. The guy behind this injured kid was able to stop but if you look closely the cop gets in the way after the first one passes so no time at all for the second guy to react or brake. He just had to go for it. The cop shouldve moved out of his way but he did not. His intentions 100% were to slightly hit the skateboard kid to make him fall and hurt himself, but he forgot about the car so it got way worse. Cops an idiot who should def. pay for this kids medical bills. Someone as stupid as him should also not be a cop ergo loose his job

To all of you who object to this, you'll understand when you grow up; the streets were intended for automobiles. When you are able to afford an automobile, you will appreciate the miniature speed bumps I'm proposing. This will get the little shits out of your way and it won't involve law enforcement. After a short time, some will be known as idiots that road their skateboard over the small speed bumps and injured or killed themselves. Problem solved.

62. S. John Trombley: And, I suppose, to add to this, police officers are given an incredible amount of power. With that power comes being held to a much higher standard. When you're a cop, every single thing you do is scrutinized, at least by the public, but also (at least in theory) by the government that employs them. A cop is very much duty bound to use the minimal amount of force necessary to maintain order in a situation. It was clearly unnecessary to drop a shoulder in this case. In the same period of time, he could have stepped to the right and avoided the entire situation. If an officer of the law is incapable of showing restraint, they should be stripped of their badge, simple as that.

That being said, I think this cops actions were egregious and extremity negligent. There's no point in putting this skater in harms way like that. He's clearly shown a lack of judgment that would be necessary to be a cop. Cops can be fucked up but most of time they're not being recorded so there's no consequences. Unfortunately for some cops the camera comes out and you get caught. Demz da ropes. That dude should be fired and the skater should get his medical bills paid. Putting your body on the line to stop skaters zipping through isn't worth getting hurt or hurting some kid over. Which raises the point, why were the cops there? To stop the event, and why didn't they want to stop the event? Because it was unsafe and someone could get hurt. Congratulations officer you are now the course of what your were trying to prevent. The "What if" point is nonsense, maybe the skateboarding community would troll the cops but tv media and older community would be pushing for heavy fines or for skateboarding to be banned. If that skater fucked that cop up he would almost certainly be in jail. Police being trained officers of the law you are meant to be able to assess the situation and respond correctly, and when the public see this we should scrutinizes how police handle the circumstances they face because when you wear the blue uniform you are in charge and you are responsible for the outcome. No doubt that was a poor outcome and could of been handled better.

Cop has 3 seconds to react to a skater flying into him, while the skater is able to see the parked cop cars from 100 yards away. Who handled THAT situation wrong and who paid the price? The only one that got clipped was the one who rode directly into a cop.

The cop clearly messed up, but I don't think his intentions were malevolent. I think they're both at fault for what happened (the skater for not anticipating the cop's position and the cop for not anticipating the skater's position).

199. Nicholas Rendon: I think they were both in the wrong slightly. The guy should've considered his own ability before going down the hill (not being able to slide while going fast), as well as the situation(several cops and cop cars). However, as an adult and a trained officer of the law, the officer did not handle it well. In any situation it is the officers job to reduce the risk in a safe way for the people around him. If he had allowed the skater to pass, then confronted him when he was at a stop, it would have been much safer. You must consider as the cop, that by standing your ground you might not just make the skateboarder lose his balance, but may be cause for collateral damage. All in all, it doesn't seem like any right decisions were made here, and I think you make a fair point.
