I sucked at Backside more at first, but in the long run I definitely have more control over my Back 180's rather than my Front 180's.

- newpa1n: I had issues getting front 180s down stairs/gaps for a long time even after I was able to do them consistently on flat, out of grinds, or UP gaps. It was the same thing you described, I was trying to roll away "backwards" instead of switch, and I started to do almost the same thing you suggested with tick-tacking switch, I just started to cruise around switch whenever I wasn't actively in a line or going for a trick. Definitely helps to just get more comfortable in switch stance.

Earlier this week, I was out skateboarding watching kids struggling trying to learn front 180s he was having a fundamental problem that I've seen a lot of beginner skateboarders have. Today I'm going to break down what that problem is, and give you guys an exercise that will help improve your front 180s. The biggest issue with the front 180 is not learning the movement right. Anyone who can Ollie, can do the motion of a front 180. Bend down, ollie , twist, spin and land it. The biggest problem, is how people approach learning how to roll away. The way I see it there's 2 ways to roll away from a 180. You can either roll away backwards or you can roll away switch. Rolling away switch is going to benefit you when you start trying more difficult variations.for example, 180 up something, 180 down something or 180ing over something. But I don't understand. Well that's good your not supposed to understand dumbass. An obvious fact that's often over looked is this: to be good at 180s you have to be good at rolling switch. How do you get good at rolling switch? Roll switch more often. You need that control but, an exercise that will help you learn to pivot the 180, with control, is this: start scooter ing and lick your printer
